Meet the Nano Box Cassette

Nano Box is the smallest, most beautiful motorized(or manual) shades ever made!

The custom design eliminates the long fascia that most competitors need to hide their ugly parts.

SI creates works of art by creating the world’s smallest cassette which blends your shade into any window.

These shades are designed to last, with a thicker gauged roll bar to prevent sagging over time and all the parts are powder-coated.

Why does this matter?

Powder coating is more durable than most other options. When it cures, the powder will form chemical bonds in the process, creating a flexible, durable finish. Powder coated parts are highly resistant to corrosion, flaking, scratching and fading.

There are 5 main things to consider when selecting your fabric…

01 Heat Control

To minimize heat gain, use light colored fabrics that reflect the sun’s rays back to the outside. Also select fabrics with low openness factors to reduce the amount of light that’s transmitted through the fabric.

02 View-Through

To achieve the best view of the outside, select dark colored fabrics and a more open (5% -10%) weave. This makes it easier to see through since there is less light reflected into your eyes when looking through the fabric.

03 UV Control

Optimal UV Control is achieved by reflecting as much light as possible and also by allowing little light to pass through the material. Select light colors and a more closed weave (3% or even 1%).

04 Glare Control

Glare reduction is best achieved with dark colored fabrics that absorb light, thereby reducing glare. Reduced openness factors also help to control by reducing the amount of transmitted light coming through the glass.

05 Openness

Openness factor refers to the amount of light that a fabric allows through unfiltered, the lower the number the less light a material will allow through.

Important to note: While the openness factor does by default affect privacy, solar material should not be considered privacy fabric.

Now that you understand those 5 points, its now important to look at light vs dark fabrics:

Fabrics are typically rated in percentages = how see through/transparent the fabrics are.

It may be a little counterintuitive but darker colored fabrics are actually easier to see through than lighter color fabrics. Here’s an example:

SI’s battery is designed to last incredibly long… Customers have reported shades lasting over a year and a half on a single charge! With normal use, there’s no reason to think that your shades can’t last a year without charging.
